I had considered using the hands in this fashion since finding them and I went through many ideas to incorporate them taking much iteration, consideration and time. I knew I wanted to have the sockets in a glass base. The combination of the fan dome and metal base combined well. Originally this was mounted on a stand but that detracted from the hands. It was more elegant as a mantle lamp. Drilling the glass dome for the sockets and switch proved relatively straightforward. Complexity was the socket and light mounts and fitting all electrics discreetly in a small space.
